How do prices stay consistent across registers and the website?
Every write, portal or register, hits the same product row in Postgres. The cashier app and storefront are derived caches that re-sync on a short interval, so there is a single source of truth.
Can one product have multiple barcodes?
Yes. Products support unlimited UPCs and selectable pack sizes, so a manufacturer barcode, a case barcode and a store label all ring the same item.
How are promotions resolved when several overlap?
The engine evaluates every active promo per line and applies the one that gives the customer the lowest price, no manual priority ordering.
