State sales tax
6.5% plus local option
Arkansas layers city and county sales tax on top of the 6.5% state rate, and both are voter-approved local options rather than a state mandate, so the combined rate depends on the exact store address. Single-transaction local tax caps were repealed for general merchandise in 2008, so a store collects full local tax on the whole invoice, not a capped portion. Storeveu applies state-level rates that every Arkansas store inherits by default, with a per-store override so each location's actual combined rate rings correctly.
