Combined sales tax
9.75%, the state's cap
Davidson County's local rate reached the maximum 2.75% Tennessee law allows on 1 February 2025, after voters approved the Choose How You Move transit referendum and added a 0.5% surcharge on top of the prior 2.25%. By ordinance that surcharge sunsets once the transit programme's debt is retired, so the rate is not necessarily permanent even though it sits at the top of the range for now. Storeveu holds the state rate centrally and Nashville's local rate as a store level override, so your Nashville registers ring the current 9.75% without you tracking the change by hand.
